On the afternoon March 19th , Tomas Hulle, the founder and recruitment interviewer of Prague internship program, paid a visit to XMU Law School to negotiate summer internship program, and was warmly welcomed by both Prof. Zhu Xiaoqin, Vice Dean of Law School, and Prof. Chi Manjiao.

Tomas Hulle, occupying a teaching position in Charles University in Prague, used to be an expert on UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law), focusing his researches on the field of dispute settlement mechanism, arbitration, IP rights, and the development of science and technology. The purpose of his visit is to introduce summer internship program, including curriculum and internship. Mr. Hulle, Vice Dean Zhu and Prof. Chi had a thorough discussion over affairs concerning scholarship, as well as possibilities of establishing partnership between XMU and Charles University.

The Prague summer program intends to lecture for students on theories and practice of international trades, including both summer courses (3 weeks) and summer internship (4 weeks). The program, under authorization and supervision by Law School of Charles University in Prague, is operated by European Centre for Career Education (ECCE).

Lecturers of the program are either European law firm partners or distinguished professors in Czech, providing students with first-hand information and valuable experience in dealing with cross-border transactions and certain legal issues. Students will also be organized to visit legal institutions in Czech, such as Czech Intellectual Property Office, Czech International Commercial Arbitration Center, and Czech Parliament, etc.

Companies in which students can gain a four-week full-time internship include some famous international law firms, domestic law firms and corporations in Schengen Area countries, such as SIEMENS. Programs in past few years offered students opportunities to work for well-known international corporations such as White&Case law firm, T-Mobile communication company, DDT accounting office, BBH law office, Clifford Chance, Noerr, etc. Every student will have an opportunity for internship.
